Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah Claims Political Motivation in MUDA Scam Allegations
Bangalore (Karnataka) [India], August 20: Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has alleged that the corruption charges against him in the MUDA scam are politically motivated. The Karnataka High Court has asked the trial court not to take any action against him until the next hearing on August 29.
On Tuesday, Siddaramaiah stated, “BJP is politically motivated. I have full faith in the judiciary.” He emphasized his belief in the Constitution and the judiciary’s power to uphold justice, expressing confidence that the truth will prevail.
Earlier, the Karnataka High Court had adjourned its August 29 hearing on Siddaramaiah’s plea against the governor’s sanction to file corruption cases against him. The case involves allegations of document forgery to claim compensation from the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA).
Senior advocate Abhishek Manu Singhvi, representing Siddaramaiah, argued that the governor did not provide sufficient reasons for the sanction and acted against the Cabinet’s decision. The complaint was initially filed by social activist Snehamayi Krishna against Siddaramaiah and nine others.
