Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and MUDA Scam Investigation
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) is investigating a high-profile scam involving the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) in Karnataka. Six employees associated with MUDA have been summoned for questioning at the ED’s zonal office in Bengaluru. They are required to bring documents related to the case.
The investigation focuses on uncovering evidence linked to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and several officials. The ED filed a money-laundering case against Siddaramaiah and others after a First Information Report by the state Lokayukta. The FIR names the chief minister, his wife B.M. Parvathi, brother-in-law Mallikarjuna Swamy, and Devaraju, who sold land to Swamy, later gifted to Parvathi.
The ED is using the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) to summon individuals and possibly seize assets. Siddaramaiah denies the allegations, claiming political persecution, and refuses to resign despite demands from the BJP.
