Karnataka BJP Leaders File Complaint Against Rahul Gandhi Over Remarks in USA

Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India], September 21: Karnataka BJP leaders have lodged a formal complaint with the Police Inspector of High Ground Police Station in Bengaluru against Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition (LOP) Rahul Gandhi. The complaint concerns remarks made by Rahul Gandhi in the USA about SC, ST, and OBC communities.

The BJP state unit accused Rahul Gandhi of making divisive and provocative comments that endanger India’s internal security, sovereignty, unity, and integrity. They have called for an investigation into his statements and legal action.

Earlier this month, while interacting with students and faculty at Georgetown University in Washington, DC, Rahul Gandhi mentioned that the Congress Party would consider scrapping reservations when India becomes a ‘fair place’. He highlighted that Dalits, Adivasis, and OBC communities are still not getting proper participation in the system, adding that India is not a ‘fair place’.

Rahul Gandhi emphasized the need for a caste census, pointing out that 90% of the country’s population, including OBCs, Dalits, and Adivasis, lack proper representation. He stated, “There’s an elephant in the room. When we talk about the capture of institutions, businesses, and the media, the elephant in the room is that 90% of India–OBCs, Dalits, Adivasis–aren’t even part of the game. That’s really the elephant in the room.”

He further noted that out of the top ten businesses in India, almost none are owned by this 90% of the population. Similarly, in the highest courts and national media, there is almost no participation from lower castes, OBCs, Dalits, and Adivasis.

Following these remarks in the USA, Rahul Gandhi has faced significant criticism from BJP leaders.
