As the Durga Puja festival approaches in Guwahati, the Kamrup (Metro) district administration has taken steps to ensure a safe and peaceful celebration. The administration has advised puja committees to install CCTV cameras and declared the areas as no tobacco and no alcohol zones.

Meeting with Puja Committees

Sumit Sattawan, the District Commissioner of Kamrup (Metro), held a meeting with over 400 puja celebration committees. He emphasized the importance of following the instructions to maintain peace during the festival. The police will also provide a traffic advisory to manage the flow of vehicles.

Police Commissioner’s Statement

Guwahati City Police Commissioner Diganta Barah highlighted the administration’s efforts to ensure a smooth celebration from October 9 to October 12. He urged the puja committees to adhere to the guidelines set by the administration.
