Kakatiya Youth Association Creates Unique Ganesh Idol with 12,000 Sriphals in Warangal

In a remarkable display of tradition and creativity, the Kakatiya Youth Association in Warangal, Telangana, has crafted their Ganesh idol with 12,000 Sriphals (small coconuts). This unique eco-friendly idol took nearly a month to complete with Sriphal sourced from Indore, Bangalore, Kashi, and other cities. Costing around Rs 1.5 lakhs, the Sriphal Ganesh has delighted devotees who are thrilled to witness this one-of-a-kind tribute to Lord Ganesh.

An organiser of Kakatiya Youth Association, Vijay Kumar, said, “We have been placing Ganesh idol here for the past 23 years. Every year, we build a unique Ganesh idol. This year, we have built a Sriphal Ganesh. Sriphal means a small coconut, which is primarily offered to Goddess Laxmi. We have bought the Sriphal from Indore, Bangalore, Kashi, and other places. This is a completely eco-friendly Ganesh.”

“Around 12,000 Sriphal have been used in this Ganesh idol. It took around 1 month to build this idol. It costed around Rs. 1.5 lakhs to build this Ganesh idol. All the people are very happy to see this unique Ganesh idol,” he added.

Ganesh Chaturthi, a 10-day festival that began on September 6, will continue until Anantha Chaturdashi. This festival is also known as Vinayak Chaturthi or Vinayak Chavithi. During Ganesh Chaturthi, Lord Ganesha is worshipped as the god of new beginnings and the remover of obstacles. Devotees across India and abroad celebrate Lord Ganesha’s wisdom and intelligence. Devotees welcome Ganesh idols into their homes, offer prayers, and visit the colourful pandals.
