JP Nadda Talks About Army and Politics on Kargil Vijay Diwas

New Delhi, India – On the 25th Kargil Vijay Diwas, Union Minister and BJP President JP Nadda spoke at the Kargil Vijay Rajat Samaroh. He accused the opposition of using the army for political purposes without giving anything in return.

Nadda highlighted the One Rank, One Pension (OROP) scheme, stating that the army had been demanding it since 1971, but it was only implemented when Prime Minister Narendra Modi came into power in 2014.

He also claimed that during the Congress-led UPA regime, soldiers did not have the freedom to counterattack Pakistan, which changed after Modi became Prime Minister. Nadda said, “When PM Modi came to power, he gave them the liberty to counterattack, and that’s why now, in Jammu and Kashmir, the life of any declared terrorist is not more than one and a half weeks.”

Nadda accused the opposition of corruption in arms deals and neglecting the soldiers. He praised the BJP for celebrating Kargil Vijay Diwas at every district office, emphasizing the importance of the day as a victory of India’s pride and self-respect.

He recalled the difficult conditions under which soldiers fought during the Kargil War and mentioned that the BJP stands with the nation’s army and its people.

Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Modi paid tribute to the soldiers who sacrificed their lives during the 1999 Kargil War by laying a wreath at the Kargil War Memorial in Drass, Ladakh.

Kargil Vijay Diwas, observed annually on July 26, commemorates the success of Operation Vijay in 1999, where Indian forces reclaimed strategic positions in the Kargil sector of Jammu and Kashmir.
