Jharkhand Suspends Mobile Internet During Exams to Prevent Cheating

Ranchi (Jharkhand) [India], September 21: Mobile internet services will be suspended across Jharkhand for over five hours on September 21 and 22 to ensure fair conduct of the Jharkhand General Graduate Level Combined Competitive Examination (JGGLCCE). The suspension will be from 8 AM to 1:30 PM on both days.

According to an official statement, the step aims to prevent any malpractice during the examination. The government observed that some individuals previously used mobile apps like Facebook, WhatsApp, X (Twitter), Telegram, and YouTube to cheat during exams.

The government wants to eliminate any doubts about the integrity of the recruitment process and avoid potential law and order issues. The Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission will conduct the exam at 823 centers, with around 6.40 lakh candidates expected to appear.
