The All Jharkhand Students Union (AJSU) has announced its first list of eight candidates for the upcoming Jharkhand elections, scheduled for November 13 and 20. Sudesh Kumar Mahto, the party leader, will contest from Silli. Other candidates include Sunita Choudhary from Ramgarh, Neeru Shanti Bhagat from Lohardargah, and others from various constituencies.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) also released its list of 66 candidates. Former Chief Ministers Champai Soren and Babulal Marandi are among the candidates, contesting from Saraikella and Dhanwar, respectively. The BJP is confident of forming the government, with Champai Soren expressing optimism about their performance.

The BJP will contest 68 seats, AJSU 10 seats, JD-U two seats, and LJP one seat in the 81-seat assembly elections. The elections will be held in two phases on November 13 and 20.
