The state of Jharkhand is gearing up for the second phase of its assembly elections, set to take place tomorrow. Polling will start at 7 AM and end at 5 PM, with some sensitive stations closing at 4 PM. Over 1.23 crore voters, including 61 lakh women, are eligible to vote. The election is primarily a contest between the JMM-led alliance and the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA).
DC Dhanbad Madhvi Mishra confirmed that preparations for the elections are complete, ensuring a free and fair process. Leaders from both alliances have expressed confidence in their victory. Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan emphasized the need for change in Jharkhand, while Congress leader Supriya Shrinate expressed confidence in the JMM-led alliance's success.
The first phase saw a voter turnout of 66.65%, with more women voting than men in 37 out of 43 constituencies. Among the 38 seats in this phase, eight are reserved for Scheduled Tribes and three for Scheduled Castes.
