Demographic Changes in PoJK and PoGB Condemned

Jamil Maqsood, President of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the United Kashmir People's National Party (UKPNP), has voiced strong opposition to the demographic changes in Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK) and Pakistan-occupied Gilgit Baltistan (PoGB). He criticized the Pakistani government's efforts to alter the population and socio-political landscape, which he claims violate the rights of indigenous people.

In a social media discussion, Maqsood highlighted the influx of non-local settlers as a strategy to advance Pakistan's political and economic goals, reducing the influence of the region's original inhabitants. He pointed out the lack of protection for local property and citizens, leading to the marginalization of indigenous communities and the suppression of their cultural identity.

Concerns Over Land Occupancy

Sardar Shoukat Ali Kashmiri, Chairman of the UKPNP, also addressed the issue, focusing on land occupancy. He noted the absence of industries and the trend of land being purchased by outsiders, which has heightened tensions. Kashmiri emphasized that residents in areas like Hunza are losing land to non-locals, affecting their economic and social rights.

Kashmiri condemned the government's tactics of spreading hatred to maintain control, which impacts the region's demographic process. He expressed hope that the occupiers would eventually leave, allowing the people to reclaim their rights and restore peace.

Call for International Support

Both leaders called for global attention to human rights violations in these regions, urging the international community to support the fight for justice and self-determination for the people of PoJK and PoGB.
