Jairam Ramesh Criticizes PM Modi’s Moscow Visit Amid Manipur Crisis

Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi for visiting Moscow instead of addressing the ongoing violence in Manipur. Ramesh pointed out that Rahul Gandhi’s visit to Manipur marks his third trip to the state in over a year.

Rahul Gandhi’s Visit

Rahul Gandhi arrived in Assam’s Silchar and will visit a relief camp at Fulertal before proceeding to Manipur. He plans to visit relief camps at three different locations and meet the Manipur Governor.

PM Modi’s Moscow Trip

PM Modi is attending the 22nd India-Russia Annual Summit at the invitation of the Russian President. Ramesh criticized Modi for not visiting Manipur even after 14 months of violence.

Efforts to Normalize Manipur

PM Modi assured that the central government is making efforts to normalize the situation in Manipur. Over 11,000 FIRs have been registered and more than 500 people have been arrested. The government is working with all stakeholders to restore peace.
