Ceasefire Agreement Details

Background of the Conflict
Following Hamas attacks on October 7, 2023, Hezbollah launched rockets and drones at northern Israel, displacing over 68,000 residents. Hezbollah leaders have vowed to continue attacks to prevent Israelis from returning home. According to UN Security Council Resolution 1701, Hezbollah is prohibited from operating south of the Litani River.
The October 7 attacks resulted in over 1,200 deaths and 252 hostages taken by Hamas. Of the 97 remaining hostages, more than 30 have been declared dead. Hamas has also held two Israeli civilians captive since 2014 and 2015, along with the bodies of two soldiers killed in 2014.
