Israel Confirms Killing of Hezbollah Leader Hassan Nasrallah in Beirut Airstrikes

Tel Aviv [Israel], September 28: Israel has confirmed the killing of top Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah in airstrikes carried out by the Israeli military in Beirut. The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) stated, “Hassan Nasrallah will no longer be able to terrorize the world.”

The IDF reported that alongside Nasrallah, the commander of Hezbollah’s Southern Front, Ali Karaki, and other commanders were also killed. The strike targeted Hezbollah’s main headquarters in the southern suburbs of Beirut, known as the Dahiyeh, which is located underground beneath residential buildings.

The Israeli military mentioned that the strike was conducted while Hezbollah’s top leaders were coordinating terror activities against Israel. Additionally, dozens of anti-ship missiles stored by Hezbollah in Beirut were destroyed. These included Chinese C-704 and C802 missiles, as well as Iranian Ghader missiles, which have ranges of up to 200 kilometers.

Following the announcement, IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Herzi Halevi stated that Israel will reach anyone who threatens the country and its citizens. He emphasized, “The message is simple, to anyone who threatens the citizens of the State of Israel, we will know how to get to them.”

On the same day, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu issued a stern warning to Iran and its proxies, stating that there is “no place” in Iran where Israel’s reach cannot extend. He made these remarks during his address at the 79th United Nations General Assembly, asserting that Israel will continue its fight until achieving “total victory.”

As the conflict escalates, major countries have called for a ceasefire and a two-state solution to achieve lasting peace in the region.
