Tel Aviv, Israel, October 2: Tensions in West Asia are escalating as Iran becomes more involved in the conflict. A top Israeli defense expert, Brigadier Gen. (Res.) Yossi Kuperwasser, notes that Israel’s repeated strikes, including the killings of Hamas and Hezbollah leaders, have created a frustrating situation for Tehran.

Kuperwasser, a former head of the research division in Israel Defence Force Military Intelligence and now a senior researcher at the Jerusalem Center for Security and Foreign Affairs, explained that Iran’s plan to encircle Israel with its proxies is failing. He mentioned that Iran might retaliate to prevent further setbacks.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu described Iran’s missile attack on October 1 as a ‘big mistake’ and warned that Tehran would pay for it. Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei celebrated the attack, calling it a ‘Victory from God.’

Kuperwasser also discussed the killing of Hezbollah Secretary-general Hassan Nasrallah, stating that it would have severe repercussions for Hezbollah, leaving them without effective leadership. He emphasized that this has created a frustrating situation for Iran, Hezbollah, and Hamas.

Following Nasrallah’s death, Israeli forces launched precision strikes on Beirut, resulting in civilian casualties. Netanyahu warned Iran’s regime that those who target Israel will face consequences, asserting that no location in Iran or the Middle East is beyond Israel’s reach. Hezbollah acknowledged Nasrallah’s death and vowed to continue their fight.
