India's Global Capability Centers (GCC) sector is on track to transform the global innovation scene, with its market value expected to hit USD 100 billion by 2030. This growth is highlighted in a report by Inductus, which also predicts the sector will employ over 2.5 million professionals in the next six years. Currently, India hosts more than 1,700 GCCs, generating around USD 64.6 billion annually and employing 1.9 million people.
The report underscores the strategic role of Indian GCCs, noting that 70% of mid-sized companies see their Indian operations as vital for innovation. Moreover, 90% of GCCs in India have evolved into multi-functional hubs, combining technology, operations, and product engineering. Engineering, Research, and Development (ER&D)-focused GCCs are expanding 1.3 times faster than the general GCC growth rate, indicating a shift towards high-value capabilities.
Alouk Kumar, Founder and CEO of Inductus, remarked on the report's findings, "India's GCC ecosystem has matured into a powerhouse of innovation and digital transformation, offering unparalleled opportunities for companies to accelerate their growth journey while maintaining operational efficiency."
Looking forward, the study forecasts that by 2026, over 70% of GCCs in India will adopt advanced AI capabilities, including machine learning and AI-driven customer support. Additionally, 80% of surveyed GCCs plan to invest in cybersecurity training and AI-driven threat detection in the next five years, emphasizing a strong focus on technological advancement and security.
India's GCC ecosystem also boasts a competitive advantage in operational efficiency, with costs up to 40% lower than Eastern Europe and 30% lower than Latin America, enabling high-quality output and innovation at reduced costs.
