Launch and Inauguration
Railway Ministers Ashwini Vaishnaw and V Somanna introduced the production of the Vande Bharat Sleeper Version train set at Bharat Earth Movers Limited (BEML) in Bengaluru. On August 31, Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off three Vande Bharat trains via video conferencing. The new routes are:
- Meerut – Lucknow
- Madurai – Bengaluru
- Chennai – Nagercoil
PM Modi emphasized that these trains reflect India’s progress towards becoming a developed nation with modernity and speed. He highlighted the benefits of these trains in connecting important religious places and boosting local economies by increasing tourism and creating new employment opportunities.
