Indian Stock Markets Rise Amid US Election Volatility
On Wednesday, Indian stock markets opened with gains as the US election voting continued, causing global market volatility. The Nifty 50 index increased by 95 points, opening at 24,308.75, while the BSE Sensex rose by 295 points to 79,771.82. Market experts highlighted the impact of the US election on market fluctuations. Ajay Bagga, a Banking and Market Expert, advised investors to be cautious due to the uncertainty surrounding the election results.
Bagga noted that the vote counting in the US had begun, and markets were reacting to every update. He warned that the election process might extend, increasing market volatility. He emphasized patience for investors, suggesting they wait for a clear winner before making decisions.
In the National Stock Exchange, all sectors except Nifty Consumer Durables opened positively. Nifty IT led with a 0.86% gain, followed by Nifty Bank and Nifty Auto. Among Nifty 50 stocks, 38 gained while 12 declined. Apollo Hospital and HCL Tech were top gainers, whereas Titan and JSW Steel were top losers.
Several companies, including Power Grid Corp of India and Tata Steel, were expected to announce their quarterly financial results. In other Asian markets, Japan’s Nikkei 225 surged over 2%, Taiwan’s Weighted index rose by 1.21%, South Korea’s KOSPI remained flat, and Hong Kong’s Hang Seng index fell by over 3%.
