Indian Sports Honours 2024: Celebrating India’s Top Athletes in Mumbai
The Indian Sports Honours (ISH) is back for its fifth edition, celebrating the achievements of India’s finest athletes from October 2023 to September 2024. This prestigious event will take place at the JW Marriott Hotel Juhu in Mumbai on November 9th.
Honouring Excellence in Sports
The ISH recognizes outstanding performances across various sports, including Olympic, Paralympic, Asian Games, Commonwealth Games, Cricket, Squash, and Chess. The event features a detailed selection process, culminating in a grand ceremony where winners will be announced live.
Distinguished Jury Panel
The jury is led by Abhinav Bindra, India’s first individual Olympic gold medalist, and includes sports icons like P.T. Usha, Anjali Bhagwat, Sanjog Gupta, Vijender Singh, Yogeshwar Dutt, and Sardar Singh. They will evaluate nominations for ten Jury Honours and four Popular Choice Honours.
Categories and New Initiatives
Jury Honours include Sportsman and Sportswoman of the Year, while Popular Choice Honours allow fans to vote online. New this year is the Grassroots Initiative of the Year Honour, recognizing contributions to sports development at the grassroots level.
