In Bengaluru, India celebrated a remarkable achievement at the Asian Equestrian Federation (AEF) Cup CSIY-B, held at Surge Stable. Indian riders Surya Aditya and Avik Bhatia secured silver and bronze medals in the overall standings. Iran’s Yazdan Mollaafzal claimed the gold with a flawless performance.

Surya Aditya’s Consistent Performance

Surya Aditya maintained his strong form, having already won silver in Round 1, to secure the overall silver medal.

Avik Bhatia’s Impressive Comeback

16-year-old Avik Bhatia made a stunning comeback from 8th place in Round 1 to win silver in Round 2, ultimately securing the bronze overall. Despite a faster time than Yazdan Mollaafzal, penalties affected his final placement.

Other Competitors

Cambodia’s Menglong Rinda completed the podium in Round 2. Riders from Pakistan, Uzbekistan, and Chinese Taipei were eliminated for not completing their rounds. Hong Kong’s Fabiola Chong and Thailand’s Papungkorn Pabbamnam placed fifth and sixth overall.

The AEF Cup CSIY-B returned to India after 14 years, featuring top riders from 11 nations. Colonel Jaiveer Singh, Secretary of the Equestrian Federation of India, praised the Indian riders’ determination and skill.
