Indian Navy’s First Training Squadron Completes Bahrain Visit

The Indian Navy’s First Training Squadron, consisting of INS Tir and ICGS Veera, successfully completed its training deployment in Manama, Bahrain. During the visit, Captain Anshul Kishore, Senior Officer of the squadron, met with Major General Salman Mubarak Al-Doseri and Commodore Ahmed Ebrahim Buhamood to discuss regional maritime security and future collaboration opportunities.

Additionally, the squadron engaged with Cmde Mark Anderson of the Royal Navy and US Naval Forces Central Command to strengthen maritime cooperation. The visit included ship tours for Bahrain Defence Forces and other naval personnel, fostering understanding of common procedures for future exercises.

Naval trainees visited the Naval Support Facility in Bahrain, gaining insights into operations of Task Force 59 and USNAVCENT. The visit also featured a friendly football match between USNAVCENT and Indian Navy personnel, a performance by the Indian Navy band, and a community outreach activity at the ‘Tree of Life Social Charity Society’.

An official reception was held onboard the squadron’s ships for delegates from the Embassy of India, Bahrain Defence Forces, and other dignitaries. The visit concluded with a joint exercise between INS Tir, ICGS Veera, and Bahrain’s RBNS Al Farooq, reaffirming strong maritime ties between the two navies.
