Following a tragic shooting in Muscat, Oman, where six people, including an Indian national, were killed, the Indian Embassy is actively supporting the Indian community. The embassy issued condolences to those affected and is working on repatriating the deceased Indian national’s remains.

Support from the Indian Embassy

Indian Ambassador to Oman, Amit Narang, spoke with Tausif Abbas, son of Basha Jan Ali Hussain, who was killed in the shooting. He also communicated with the families of the injured, assuring them of full support. Embassy officials visited the injured Indian nationals at Khoula hospital.

The Indian envoy expressed sincere appreciation for the prompt action taken by Omani security agencies in handling the crisis and protecting civilians. The embassy conveyed sympathies to the families of the deceased and wished a speedy recovery to the injured.

Details of the Incident

The shooting occurred in the Al Wadi Al Kabir area on Monday night. Six people, including one Indian national, were killed, and another Indian was injured. The Royal Oman Police and other security services have concluded their procedures, with three attackers killed. Four Pakistanis and a policeman were among the deceased, and at least 28 people from various nationalities were injured. Investigations are ongoing.
