Gandhinagar, Gujarat – The Indian Army is actively helping people in Gujarat who are affected by severe floods. Heavy rains have caused waterlogging in many areas, including Bhuj. The Gujarat government asked for help, and six groups of soldiers are now working to rescue people and provide immediate assistance.

Army’s Response

The Indian Army quickly responded to the flooding by sending its resources to the worst-hit areas. They are providing Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) to those in need. The Army stated, “In response to severe flooding in multiple districts, the Indian Army has swiftly mobilised its resources to support the ongoing relief efforts.”

Weather Forecast

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted more heavy rain for Friday in several districts, including Kachchh, Morbi, Jamnagar, Devbhoomi Dwarka, and Porbandar. They also expect moderate rain in other areas like Surendranagar, Rajkot, Junagadh, Gir Somnath, and Amreli. Light rain is likely in many other districts, including Ahmedabad and Vadodara.

Government Actions

Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel visited the State Emergency Operation Center in Gandhinagar to review the preparedness for the heavy rains and potential storms. He spoke with District Collectors via video conference and gave instructions to evacuate areas if necessary. Chief Secretary Rajkumar and other senior officials were also present during the meeting.
