The Government of India has provided financial assistance to build new campus and hostel buildings for Myagdi Multiple Campus in Nepal. The project, costing 27.93 million Nepal Rupees, was completed under the 'Nepal-India Development Cooperation' initiative. The buildings were officially handed over to the Campus Management Committee by Raj Kumar Thapa, Chief of the District Coordination Committee, Myagdi, and Avinash Kumar Singh, Counsellor at the Indian Embassy in Kathmandu.
Political representatives, government officials, and social workers attended the handover ceremony. The project included the construction of a humanities block, management block, girls' hostel block, and other facilities. It was implemented as a High Impact Community Development Project (HICDP) through the District Coordination Committee, Myagdi.
The new infrastructure aims to provide better access to higher education and hostel facilities for students at Myagdi Multiple Campus, which was established in 1996. The campus offers Bachelor's and Master's level courses and has around 950 students, with 70% being girls.
India and Nepal share a strong relationship with multi-sectoral cooperation. The HICDPs demonstrate India's ongoing support in enhancing Nepal's infrastructure, particularly in education, to uplift the people of Nepal.
Myagdi is a district in Nepal, which is a country located to the north of India. It is known for its beautiful landscapes and is part of the Gandaki Province.
Campus buildings are places where students attend classes and learn, while hostel buildings are where students can live, especially if they come from far away. These new buildings will help students have a better place to study and stay.
Nepal Rupees is the currency used in Nepal, similar to how Indian Rupees are used in India. It is the money people use to buy things and pay for services in Nepal.
This is a partnership between Nepal and India where both countries work together to help each other grow and develop. It includes projects like building schools, roads, and other important facilities.
The Campus Management Committee is a group of people responsible for taking care of the campus. They make decisions about how the campus is run and ensure everything is working well for the students and teachers.
