India Provides Aid to Flood-Affected Nepal
On October 9, India delivered a second batch of emergency relief supplies to Nepal, supporting families impacted by recent floods and landslides. The handover was conducted by Second Secretary Narayan Singh, representing the Indian government, to Datta Raj Hamal, Assistant Chief District Officer of Banke.
The relief package, weighing 21.5 tonnes, included essential items such as hygiene supplies, medicines, mosquito nets, life jackets, sleeping mats, food, gum boots, and an inflatable rubber boat with a motor. These supplies were transported to Nepalgunj from India, with more aid expected soon.
The Indian Embassy in Kathmandu emphasized India’s ongoing commitment to assist Nepal during this crisis. A previous consignment, delivered on October 7, included 4.2 tonnes of tarpaulins, sleeping bags, blankets, chlorine tablets, and water bottles.
India remains in close contact with Nepal to provide necessary support following the devastation caused by the natural disasters.
