Anantpur (Andhra Pradesh) [India], September 22: India A clinched their first Duleep Trophy title with a victory over India C, thanks to a century by Shashwat Rawat and excellent bowling by Tanush Kotian and Prasidh Krishna.

Match Highlights

India C won the toss and chose to field. India A struggled initially, reduced to 36/5. However, Shashwat Rawat (124 runs) and Shams Mulani (44 runs) formed a crucial 87-run partnership. Avesh Khan (51 runs) and Prasidh Krishna (34 runs) helped India A reach 297 runs. Vijaykumar Vyshak and Anshul Kamboj were the top bowlers for India C.

In response, India C was reduced to 41/4 but recovered with a 95-run partnership between Baba Indrajith (34 runs) and Abishek Porel (82 runs). Pulkit Narang (41 runs) and Kamboj (18 runs) took India C to 234 runs, trailing by 63 runs. Aaqib Khan and Avesh Khan were the standout bowlers for India A.

India A faced another shaky start in their second innings but recovered with a century partnership between Riyan Parag (73 runs) and Shashwat Rawat (53 runs). Useful contributions from Kumar Kushagra (42 runs) and Mulani (26 runs) took India A to 286/8, setting a target of 350 runs for India C. Gaurav Yadav was the top bowler for India C.

In the run-chase, India C’s Ruturaj Gaikwad (44 runs) and Sai Sudharsan (111 runs) formed a 76-run partnership, but the team was bowled out for 217 runs, losing by 132 runs. Kotian and Krishna were the standout bowlers for India A.

Player Awards

Shashwat Rawat was named ‘Player of the Match’ for his scores of 124 and 53. Anshul Kambhoj of India C was awarded ‘Player of the Tournament’ for taking 16 wickets.

Other Match: India D vs India B

In another match, India D defeated India B by 257 runs. Ricky Bhui’s batting and Arshdeep Singh’s six-wicket haul were key to the victory. India D set a target of 373 runs, and India B was bowled out for 115 runs. Bhui was named ‘Player of the Match’.

Final Standings

India A finished at the top with two wins, one loss, and 12 points. India C was second with nine points, India B third with seven points, and India D at the bottom with six points.
