Imran Khan Gets 10-Day Remand for May 9 Riots in Pakistan
An anti-terrorism court in Lahore has granted a 10-day physical remand for former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan in connection with 12 cases from the May 9 riots. The unrest began after Khan was detained during a corruption case.
The Lahore police’s investigation team visited Adiala Jail to question Khan, who declined to meet them. The charges include inciting public unrest and attacks on government properties.
Judge Khalid Arshad granted the remand after a hearing where Khan appeared via video call.
