IMD Predicts Heavy Rainfall in Various Parts of India

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted light to moderate rainfall over parts of West and Central India in the upcoming week. According to the IMD, regions like Konkan and Goa will see fairly widespread rainfall, while Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh will experience scattered to fairly widespread rainfall. Vidarbha, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, and Gujarat will have isolated to scattered rainfall.

The IMD also mentioned that isolated extremely heavy rainfall is expected in Chhattisgarh and East Madhya Pradesh from September 15 to 17, and in West Madhya Pradesh on September 17 and 18. A deep depression over Gangetic West Bengal and adjoining Bangladesh is likely to cause very heavy to extremely heavy rainfall in Jharkhand on September 15, Chhattisgarh on September 15, and East Madhya Pradesh on September 16.

Additionally, East India will see fairly widespread to widespread light to moderate rainfall, and Northeast India will have scattered to fairly widespread rainfall during the week. Isolated extremely heavy rainfall is expected in Jharkhand and Gangetic West Bengal on September 15, and very heavy rainfall in Bihar and Odisha on September 15. Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura will experience heavy rainfall on September 15 and 16, while Assam and Meghalaya will see heavy rainfall from September 18 to 20.

In the past 24 hours, heavy to very heavy rainfall was recorded in Haryana, Gangetic West Bengal, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, and Jharkhand.
