Himachal Pradesh CM Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Employment and Environment

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has assured the public of the state government’s commitment to providing employment opportunities for the youth. He criticized the BJP for spreading false information about the Congress government’s initiatives. Sukhu clarified that rumors about the abolition of certain government posts are untrue, explaining that some outdated positions are being re-designated to meet current needs, such as creating JOA (IT) posts in place of Clerk Typist roles.

The Finance Department has issued a letter to various departments to address these changes. New posts are being created to replace long-vacant ones, with 2,511 new positions already established and 16,592 more being filled. Departments like Education, Health, Home, and others are seeing significant recruitment efforts.

Sukhu emphasized the government’s ongoing efforts to create jobs, including in emerging fields like AI and Data Science. He also highlighted the importance of youth in state development and the government’s focus on rural development and transparency.

On environmental issues, Sukhu called for a “green bonus” from the central government for states that conserve natural resources. He criticized BJP MPs for not advocating for the state’s environmental needs. The state has banned tree cutting to protect forests, which Sukhu claims could generate significant revenue if allowed.

The government is launching the ‘Sarkaar Janta Ke Dwar’ program to engage with rural communities, differing from the BJP’s Jan Manch initiative. Sukhu plans to visit remote areas to understand and address local issues, aiming to strengthen the rural economy.
