Hathras Tragedy: School Owner and Staff Arrested for Alleged Murder of 11-Year-Old Kishan Kushwaha
The Hathras Police have registered an FIR against DL Public School and its owner Dinesh Bhagel for violating school norms and alleged involvement in the murder of 11-year-old Kishan Kushwaha. The FIR includes sections 211, 223, 318(3), and 318(4) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and sections 17 and 18 of the Right to Education (RTE) Act.
Kishan’s father expressed frustration over the lack of updates from the police, stating, “This incident is of September 23, since then I haven’t gotten any information from the police, or any other update. Everything I have got to know is through the media itself.” He also dismissed claims of black magic, citing the post-mortem report that indicated his son was choked and suffocated. He demanded the death penalty for the culprits.
Hathras Basic Siksha Adhikari, Swati Bharti, ordered the closure of DL Public School, which was operating illegally beyond its recognized classes. Hathras Additional Superintendent of Police, Ashok Kumar Singh, confirmed the arrest of five accused, including the school owner, who have been sent to judicial custody.
The mother of the deceased, Kamlesh, called for a bulldozer to be run over the school and demanded a CBI inquiry. Congress leader Supriya Shrinate also called for strict action, expressing concern over the country’s regression in recent years.
