Haryana Assembly Elections: 1561 Candidates File Nominations for October 5 Polls
Chandigarh (Haryana) [India], September 13: A total of 1561 candidates have filed their nominations for the upcoming Haryana Assembly elections scheduled for October 5. Haryana Chief Electoral Officer Pankaj Agarwal announced that these candidates, from various political parties and independents, have submitted 1747 nomination papers, which have been scrutinized.
Agarwal mentioned that candidates can withdraw their nominations until September 16. After this date, the final list of candidates for the 90 assembly constituencies will be published, and election symbols will be allotted by the returning officers.
In the 2014 Haryana Assembly elections, 1351 candidates contested, while in 2019, the number was 961. This year, Bhiwani Assembly constituency has the highest number of candidates at 31, while Nangal Chaudhary has the lowest with 9 candidates.
