Hardik Pandya Becomes Top T20I All-Rounder, Helps India Win T20 World Cup
Hardik Pandya has risen to the top of the men’s T20I all-rounder rankings, tying with Sri Lankan star Wanindu Hasaranga. This achievement marks the first time an Indian man has reached the No.1 spot in this category.
Pandya’s all-round performance was crucial in India’s T20 World Cup victory. He scored 144 runs with a batting strike rate of over 150 and took 11 wickets. His most significant contribution came in the final, where he took the crucial wickets of Heinrich Klaasen and David Miller, and defended 16 runs in the final over to secure the win for India.
Other notable movements in the T20I all-rounder rankings include Marcus Stoinis, Sikandar Raza, Shakib Al Hasan, and Liam Livingstone, who all moved up by one spot. Mohammad Nabi dropped out of the top five, moving back by four spots.
In the men’s T20I bowling rankings, Anrich Nortje climbed seven places to a career-best second spot, just behind Adil Rashid. India’s Jasprit Bumrah, who was named Player of the Tournament for his 15 wickets, moved up 12 spots to just outside the top ten, his highest position since 2020. Kuldeep Yadav entered the top ten, moving up three spots to joint-eighth. Arshdeep Singh also made a significant gain, moving up four spots to No.13, and Tabraiz Shamsi reached the top 15 after moving up five positions.
There was minimal movement in the top ten of the batting rankings, with South Africa’s Aiden Markram dropping two points after a less impressive tournament.
