Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan Leads ERC Meeting at Al Nakheel Palace
On October 23, in Abu Dhabi, Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Ruler’s Representative in the Al Dhafra Region and Chairman of the Emirates Red Crescent (ERC), emphasized the UAE’s commitment to humanitarian values during the ‘Year of Sustainability’. He highlighted the UAE’s efforts under President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to enhance global solidarity through the ERC.
During a meeting at Al Nakheel Palace, Hamdan praised the ERC’s role in providing relief and shelter to those in need, especially in conflict zones like Gaza and Lebanon. He noted the ERC’s strategic plans to address global humanitarian challenges and maintain the UAE’s leadership in this field.
The ERC Board reviewed reports on its achievements, including 562,950 development projects in 152 countries and local initiatives benefiting 1.3 million people. The Board also discussed the success of the ‘UAE stands with Lebanon’ campaign, which collected 1,100 tonnes of aid and AED 93.1 million in financial support.
Additionally, the ERC’s response to the Syrian earthquake and support for Palestinians in Gaza were highlighted. The Nahr Al Hayat Fund, aiding children with critical illnesses, has helped 1,010 children with AED 2.5 million in funding.
