Haifa Airport Reopens After War Closure
Haifa International Airport in Israel has resumed its domestic and international flights after being closed due to war. This marks a significant step towards normalcy and growth for the northern region of Israel.
New Airline: Air Haifa
A new airline, Air Haifa, has been launched, marking a historic moment for Israeli aviation. The airline's first flight was to Eilat, followed by an international flight to Larnaca, Cyprus. Starting January 2, Air Haifa will offer five weekly flights to Athens.
Infrastructure Upgrades
The Airports Authority has invested tens of millions of shekels in upgrading Haifa Airport. Improvements include a 1,300-meter runway meeting international safety standards, biometric screening stations, and enhanced passenger terminals.
Improved Connectivity
The Transportation Ministry has introduced a 15-minute shuttle service connecting the airport to Israel Railways, the metro, the Haifa cable car, and a planned light rail line to Nazareth.
Transportation Minister Miri Regev and Air Haifa CEO Gonen Ussishkin expressed excitement about the airport's reopening and the new airline's launch, emphasizing the importance of strengthening the northern region.
