Gujarat, India, is celebrating “Vikas Saptah,” marking 23 years of progress under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership. As Chief Minister from 2001 to 2014, Modi launched the ‘Khushboo Gujarat Ki’ campaign in 2005, promoting tourism and connecting attractions with better infrastructure. This led to a rise in domestic and international tourism, with festivals like Rann Utsav gaining prominence.

Prime Minister Modi highlighted Kutch’s transformation, noting Dhordo’s recognition as a top tourism village. Gujarat’s Gir National Park, home to Asiatic lions, became a key destination due to conservation efforts and the ‘Khushboo Gujarat Ki’ campaign. Tourists like Neeta and Sheetal praised the park’s security and facilities.

Gujarat offers adventure and eco-tourism spots like Saputara and Gira Waterfalls, along with cultural sites such as forts and temples. The Sabarmati Riverfront and ‘Akshar River Cruise’ in Ahmedabad enhance its appeal. The Statue of Unity, the world’s tallest statue, honors Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and attracts global visitors.

In 2023, Gujarat saw a 58% increase in foreign tourists, reaching 28.06 lakh visitors. Under Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, the “Khushboo Gujarat Ki 2.0” campaign continues to promote Gujarat’s culture and heritage worldwide.
