Francesco Bagnaia Sets Record to Claim Pole at Emilia-Romagna GP

Bologna, Italy – Francesco Bagnaia from the Ducati Lenovo Team set an amazing time to take the top spot for the Gran Premio Pramac dell’Emilia-Romagna. He broke the lap record at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli with a time of 1:30.031, beating Championship leader Jorge Martin from Prima Pramac Racing by 0.214 seconds.

Jorge Martin was leading at the start of the session but was overtaken by Bagnaia in the last five minutes. Enea Bastianini, also from the Ducati Lenovo Team, secured the third spot on the front row with a great final lap.

Lap Records Broken in Q2

Q1 saw some excitement with Alex Marquez from Gresini Racing MotoGP crashing early but quickly returning for a final attempt. Miguel Oliveira from Trackhouse Racing led early on, but Brad Binder from Red Bull KTM Factory Racing and Oliveira moved to Q2 with strong laps.

In Q2, Jorge Martin set an early record-breaking time of 1:30.245. Marc Marquez from Gresini Racing MotoGP had a fall at Turn 3. The final minutes were thrilling as Bagnaia and Martin tried to improve their times. Bagnaia set a new record with 1:30.031, two-tenths ahead of Martin. Binder briefly held third before Bastianini improved his time.

Marc Marquez to Start on Third Row

Brad Binder was moved to fourth, leading the second row for the Tissot Sprint and Sunday’s Grand Prix. Pedro Acosta from Red Bull GASGAS Tech3 placed fifth, showing great improvement. Marco Bezzecchi from Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team held sixth place.

Marc Marquez will start from the third row after his best time left him 0.849 seconds behind pole. Maverick Vinales from Aprilia Racing starts eighth, and Fabio Quartararo from Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP Team placed ninth.

Further back, Jack Miller from Red Bull KTM Factory Racing starts from 19th, and Alex Marquez will start from 21st after his Q1 crash.
