He described the situation as a challenge for India, emphasizing the need for careful measures based on intelligence.
Defence expert Dhruv Katoch highlighted the tense and serious nature of the situation, noting that Sheikh Hasina has left for India and is currently in Agartala. He mentioned that the Bangladesh Army will likely play a significant role in the interim government until new elections are held.
Former Indian Ambassador to Ukraine, Vidya Bhushan Soni, described the situation in Bangladesh as tragic, attributing the unrest to Hasina’s policies, such as job reservations for independence war veterans. He suggested that Hasina’s overconfidence prevented her from foreseeing the protests.
