Former Andhra Pradesh CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy Accuses CM Chandrababu Naidu of Tarnishing Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams
Amaravati (Andhra Pradesh) [India], September 22: Former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, accusing current CM Chandrababu Naidu of attempting to damage the reputation of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD). Reddy’s letter addresses the controversy over the ghee used in the Tirupati laddoo prasadam.
Reddy explained that the procurement of ghee has been conducted through an e-tendering process every six months for several decades, including during the TDP government from 2014 to 2019. He accused Naidu of making false claims for political gain, which he believes has hurt the beliefs of many people and tarnished the sanctity of TTD.
On September 19, CM Chandrababu Naidu claimed that the ghee used in the prasadam contained animal fat during the previous YSRCP government. Andhra Minister Nara Lokesh supported Naidu’s claims, citing a government lab report and promising action. Lokesh stated that the Chief Minister would announce a policy to prevent such issues in the future and ensure structural changes.
