Floods Slow Down Traffic on Lucknow-Delhi Highway

Heavy Rainfall Affects 133 Villages in Uttar Pradesh

Due to heavy floods on NH 24, traffic on the Lucknow-Delhi National Highway has slowed down significantly. Superintendent of Police, Shahjahanpur, Ashok Kumar Meena, stated that water on the highway has caused continuous slow traffic. Diversions have been coordinated with surrounding vehicles, and police forces have been deployed to clear the roads.

On July 10, heavy rainfall caused flooding across 12 districts in Uttar Pradesh, affecting more than 100 villages and croplands. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath visited the flood-prone areas in Lakhimpur, Kheri, and Pilibhit, distributing relief materials and meeting affected residents. After an aerial survey, Adityanath reported that 133 villages are flood-affected, with thousands of hectares of cropland damaged. Timely precautions helped avert a large loss of life and property.

Meanwhile, Delhi-NCR also received heavy rainfall, leading to severe conditions. Delhi Minister Atishi assured that the state government is prepared to respond to any flood-like situation, with more rain forecasted for North and North-East India by the Indian Meteorological Department.
