In Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, the Rapti River is flowing above the danger mark, impacting around 29 villages with flood-like conditions. Vineet Kumar Singh, the Additional District Magistrate (ADM) of Gorakhpur, reported that 85 boats have been deployed to ensure safe transportation for residents. He stated, “The Rapti River is currently flowing 90 cm above the danger level. A total of 29 villages are affected, and 85 boats have been provided by the administration for safe travel. We will compensate farmers who have suffered crop losses, and we are also supplying ration and necessary items to the villagers.”

Due to heavy rains in the state, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has instructed officials in the affected districts to conduct relief operations promptly. He emphasized the need for officials to visit the affected areas, ensure proper relief work, and provide necessary assistance to those impacted. The Chief Minister also directed officials to provide permissible relief amounts to families who have lost livestock and homes.

Gorakhpur experienced heavy rainfall on September 26, causing significant challenges for schoolchildren and farmers, with the latter facing heavy losses due to damage to their paddy crops.
