Chief Fire Officer Parmod Sharma Explains

A fire broke out in a Mahindra car showroom in Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh, on Saturday evening, causing significant damage to several vehicles.

Details of the Incident:

According to Chief Fire Officer (CFO) Parmod Sharma, the fire department received information about the fire at 9:15 PM. Two fire tenders were immediately dispatched to the scene.

Sharma stated, “It was found that a large number of vehicles were parked on the ground floor, with 3 to 4 vehicles burning. Additionally, accessories on the first floor had caught fire. Given the severity of the situation, we called for more fire tenders. The situation is now under control.”

The rescue operation faced delays because the watchman, who noticed the smoke around 6:15 PM, first informed the owners before alerting the fire department. This delay resulted in 6 to 7 vehicles being burned, although several others were saved from damage.

Sharma noted that the fire was likely caused by a short circuit, possibly due to computers left on in the office. He also mentioned that many luxury vehicles were parked in the showroom, and losses would be assessed in the morning.
