Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman Leads Tech Talks in Mexico
Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman chaired a Tech Leaders Roundtable in Guadalajara, Mexico, focusing on strengthening technological cooperation between India and Mexico. The event was organized by the Mexican Association of the Information Technology Industry and Tata Consulting Services, in collaboration with the Embassy of India in Mexico and the Department of Economic Affairs.
The meeting aimed to bring together global technology leaders, including representatives from major Indian IT companies operating in the region. Discussions centered on boosting cooperation in technology and innovation to expand collaboration between the two countries.
During her visit, Sitharaman also paid tribute to the late industrialist Ratan Tata at the TCS headquarters in Mexico. Ratan Tata passed away on October 9 due to old age issues.
Sitharaman’s visit, from October 17 to 20, includes interactions with political and business leaders in Guadalajara and Mexico City. The trip reflects the growing economic and trade relations between India and Mexico, with a focus on exploring further collaboration in trade, investment, technology, innovation, and digital public infrastructure.
The Ministry of Finance highlighted the visit’s goal to deepen bilateral relations and explore new avenues for collaboration in various sectors, enhancing trade and investment ties between India and Mexico.
