India is the third-largest country in terms of X users, with over 25 million users. Following the announcement, Musk's followers expressed their excitement, with one user, Hitman Hub, noting X's top position in countries like Australia, Germany, and Brazil. Another user, Raghu Rajaram, praised X for changing the media landscape.
However, after the 2024 U.S. presidential election, which saw Donald Trump win, X experienced a significant user decline, with over 115,000 U.S. users deactivating their accounts. Many users migrated to Bluesky, which saw its user base double to 15 million, gaining 1 million new sign-ups in just one week.
