The Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted raids at 19 locations, including the premises of Himachal Pradesh Congress MLA RS Bali and Rajesh Sharma, a close associate of Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu. The raids were carried out in Delhi, Chandigarh, Punjab, and Himachal Pradesh.

Reason for Raids

The raids are linked to the generation of fake Ayushman Bharat ID cards and violations of the scheme by several hospitals. The ED is investigating the involvement of top hospitals in generating fake medical bills, causing losses to the exchequer.

Locations of Raids

The ED conducted searches in five districts of Himachal Pradesh: Kangra, Una, Shimla, Mandi, and Kullu.

Key Figures Involved

RS Bali, a Congress MLA from Nagrota and Chairman of the Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation, and Rajesh Sharma of Shree Balaji Hospital in Kangra, are among those whose premises were raided.
