Dubai Finance (DOF) and PwC Academy, part of PwC Middle East, have partnered to introduce a new tax professional certification for tax professionals in Dubai government entities. The agreement was signed by Abdulrahman Saleh Al Saleh, DOF's Director-General, and Samar Sayegh, PwC Partner and PwC Academy Middle East Leader.
The Tax Professional Certificate includes comprehensive modules on UAE's value-added tax (VAT) and Corporate Tax, available in Arabic and English. It features two diplomas from the UK's Association of Tax Technicians (ATT-UK) for UAE VAT and Corporate Tax, delivered by PwC Academy.
Abdulrahman Saleh Al Saleh emphasized the UAE's tax system's alignment with international standards, balancing public and private sector needs. Abdulaziz Mohammed Al Mulla highlighted the certificate's role in enhancing government work and economic development. Samar Sayegh noted the collaboration's significance in empowering UAE nationals with essential tax skills.
The programme spans 18 training days, totaling 108 hours, and requires passing a final exam administered by PwC Academy. Amna Salem Al Jabri, Director of the Financial Studies Division at DOF, stated that this pioneering programme is the first of its kind in the Arab world, demonstrating Dubai Government's commitment to developing skilled tax professionals.
