Digvijaya Singh Urges CM Yadav to Investigate PACL Land Scam in Madhya Pradesh
In Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, former Chief Minister and Congress leader Digvijaya Singh has written to Chief Minister Mohan Yadav regarding a serious issue involving the alleged fake purchase of farmers’ land by the PACL company. Singh has called for a thorough investigation and urged the state government to approach the Supreme Court to help free the farmers’ lands.
In his letter dated October 29, Singh highlighted that PACL, along with its associated companies, allegedly conducted fraudulent land registrations in collusion with officials from the Revenue and Registrar Stamp Departments. This issue affects thousands of farmers across 35 districts, including Sehore, the home district of former Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan.
Singh mentioned that a group of affected farmers met him, expressing their distress over the situation. They claimed that their lands were registered under the company’s name without their consent. Some farmers have already filed complaints with the Economic Offences Wing (EOW), leading to a case being registered against 24 individuals, including company officials and government employees.
Singh has urged CM Yadav to take immediate action by filing a petition in the Supreme Court on behalf of the affected farmers. He also suggested that all land transactions be investigated, and a report be compiled by district collectors. Additionally, Singh recommended forming a special cell in each district to address farmers’ grievances and a state-level cell led by a senior IAS officer to coordinate with SEBI and the Supreme Court.
Singh concluded by requesting a government-level inquiry into the land scam and immediate steps to reclaim the farmers’ lands from the company.
