Digi Yatra Reaches 4 Million Users and Expands to More Airports

Digi Yatra, a biometric-based app, has crossed 4 million registered users. The app allows passengers to use their face as a boarding pass, making airport travel faster and easier. Initially launched in December 2022 in Delhi, Bengaluru, and Varanasi, it now operates in 14 airports and will soon expand to 15 more, bringing the total to 29 airports.

The app uses facial recognition technology to speed up the process at various airport checkpoints, reducing entry time from 15-20 minutes to around 5 minutes. It also ensures data security by deleting facial biometrics within 24 hours of the flight.

CEO Suresh Khadakbhavi expressed excitement over reaching this milestone, highlighting the trust users have in the platform. He also mentioned plans to make the facility available to international travelers. Digi Yatra Foundation, a not-for-profit entity, oversees the platform with shareholders including the Airport Authority of India and several major international airports in India.
