Swift Action Leads to Arrests and Recovery

In New Delhi, the police have arrested three suspects and recovered Rs. 30,000 in a kidnapping and extortion case linked to a failed Bitcoin investment. The incident involved Aryan Sharma and Tanishq Rajamani, who were rescued by the Anand Vihar Police Station team.

The Incident

On October 22, 2024, a PCR call reported a demand of Rs. 2 lakhs from the victims’ friends. Ashutosh Mishra, a friend of the victims, informed the police about the abduction in his car. The police traced Aryan Sharma’s mobile phone to locate the victims.

The Rescue

Police officers, including IO/SI Priyank, reached the location and found Aryan and Tanishq. Suspects Md. Saad and Fareed were captured, while Arshad and Babloo escaped. Aryan, a resident of Vaishali, Uttar Pradesh, had invested in a Bitcoin company called Bitox with his friends. They borrowed Rs. 2 lakhs from Fareed but faced losses and couldn’t repay.

The Abduction

Fareed had taken Aryan’s phone and watch due to the financial dispute. On October 22, Aryan met Fareed at Kailash Deepak Hospital, where he and Tanishq were abducted. Ashutosh escaped and alerted the police. The kidnappers extorted Rs. 40,000 and forced Aryan to sign blank papers.

Ongoing Investigation

The police, using technical surveillance, traced the victims to Seelampur. Arshad and Babloo fled, but Fareed, Md. Saad, and Farman were arrested. An FIR was filed, and Rs. 30,000 was recovered. Forged Ministry of Home Affairs ID cards were found with the suspects. The investigation continues to find the remaining suspects and funds.
