Delhi Police Rescue Abducted One-Year-Old Child
New Delhi [India], July 13: Delhi Police have successfully rescued a one-year-old child who was abducted and sold for money. Five people, including four women, have been arrested in connection with this case.
Details of the Abduction
On July 8, Sultanpuri Police Station received information about a missing boy from Kanjhawala Road in Krishan Vihar. The child had been missing since 10:30 PM on June 6. The boy was taken by a woman identified as ‘S’. Based on the statement of the child’s mother, ‘C’, a case was registered, and an investigation began immediately.
Investigation and Arrests
Police analyzed numerous CCTV camera footage and call details of suspects. The woman who abducted the child was apprehended in Krishan Vihar, Delhi. During interrogation, she revealed that she had taken the child for Rs. 1,50,000 and sold him to another woman for Rs. 2,10,000. The police then arrested the woman who bought the child from her residence in Delhi. She confessed to selling the child to a couple in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, for Rs. 3,30,000.
A police team was dispatched to Mathura, where they rescued the child and arrested the couple. Another woman, who acted as a mediator, was also arrested. The husband, Arpit, explained that he and his wife wanted a child to raise as they did not have children. One of the women accused was a relative of the couple.
Ongoing Investigation
The police stated that further investigation is ongoing and more people could be involved in this case.
