New Delhi [India], August 12: After a meeting at Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s residence, Delhi Minister and AAP leader Gopal Rai announced that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) will begin a ‘padayatra’ on August 14. He also stated that Delhi Minister Atishi will hoist the flag on August 15.

Rai explained, “Since the CM is in jail, it is decided that Delhi Minister Atishi will hoist the flag on August 15 on behalf of the government. This was communicated to the department.”

The meeting’s agenda was to discuss strategies for the upcoming elections. Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia emphasized the need to engage with the public with full strength. He said, “We will begin a padayatra on August 14. Sunita Kejriwal is communicating Arvind Kejriwal’s message wherever needed and will continue to do so.”

AAP MP Sandeep Pathak added, “All the MLAs assured that they will contest the elections with complete strength. We will show it to the BJP that breaking a party is not going to bring any gains. AAP will rise with more power than ever. Even after so many attempts by the BJP, all works are complete. Water and electricity supply, schools, hospitals, and mohalla clinics are functional.”

Earlier, Delhi’s former deputy chief minister and Patparganj MLA Manish Sisodia held a meeting with volunteers from his Assembly constituency. After being released from Tihar Jail on August 9, Sisodia praised the volunteers for their dedication in his absence.

Assembly polls in Delhi are expected to be held in early 2025. In the 2020 assembly polls, AAP won 62 out of 70 seats, while the BJP secured eight seats. Congress did not win any seats.
