Delhi Metro Starts Early for Independence Day

On August 15, Delhi Metro services will begin at 4 am to help people attend the Independence Day ceremony. The metro will run on all lines from all terminal stations. Trains will run every 15 minutes until 6 am, after which the regular schedule will resume.

People with official invitation cards from the Ministry of Defence can enter and travel by showing a valid government-issued photo ID. This special entry is valid only at Lal Quila, Jama Masjid, and Chandni Chowk Metro stations, which are near the ceremony venue. The same cards can be used for return journeys from these stations. Regular announcements will be made to inform passengers about these arrangements. The Ministry of Defence will reimburse the travel cost to the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC).

‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ Bike Rally

Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, along with Union Ministers Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjarapu, Kiren Rijiju, and Mansukh Mandaviya, flagged off a bike rally under the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign from Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi.

Vice President Dhankhar highlighted that ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ symbolizes India’s independence, pride, and commitment to becoming a developed nation. He mentioned that the campaign, part of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav,’ started in 2021 to encourage people to hoist the national flag at their homes on Independence Day. Dhankhar expressed confidence that a new record would be set this year, reflecting India’s progress towards becoming a global superpower.
